Apprentice Electrician
Overview of the Role
We are hiring Apprentice Electricians to join our growing team. This is a full-time, on-payroll role with structured, hands-on training in solar PV and electrical systems. You’ll work alongside experienced electricians, roofers, and project managers on Domestic, Commercial, and Agri projects from first fix to final sign-off.
You must be able to commute to Coachford, Cork every morning.
Key Responsibilities

Assist Electrical & Solar PV Installations: Support senior electricians with wiring, mounting balance-of-system components, testing under supervision, and preparing for commissioning.

DC/AC Preparation & Labelling: Route, clip, and protect cabling; fit cable glands/entries; label strings and circuits; prepare isolator housings for handover to the REC team.

Tool Use & Site Practice: Learn safe operation of hand and power tools; maintain tool control and site housekeeping standards.

Safety First: Follow method statements and toolbox talks; use PPE and fall-arrest correctly; work safely on ladders, scaffolds, and MEWPs (when trained).

QA & Documentation: Capture photo evidence, complete checklists, and report snags/variations for close-out to Mitros quality standards.

Team Collaboration: Coordinate with roofers and electricians for smooth sequencing; communicate clearly with the site supervisor/PM; support junior team members where appropriate.

Learning & Growth: Build knowledge of electrical principles, solar PV components, regulations, and best practice.
Required Qualifications

Interest & Attitude: Genuine interest in the electrical/renewables trade and a willingness to learn on site.

Commute: Required to commute daily to Coachford, Cork.

Teamwork: Works well in a crew; takes direction from experienced professionals; communicates clearly.

Tools: Basic understanding of hand/power tools is advantageous (training provided).

Certs (advantage or to obtain): Safe Pass and Manual Handling; Working at Heights/MEWP/Abrasive Wheels are a plus.

Physical Requirements: Comfortable with manual handling, working at height, climbing ladders, and outdoor work in varied weather.
